September GLOSSYBOX

I was pretty happy with this months Glossybox. It came on thursday, so I was happy to come home to it after a long day. It had a couple of things that I was pretty happy about.
Im a BB Cream lover so I was pretty stoked about the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream. I got it in No 31 which is perfect for my skin tone.  This is just under $30 for the size I got. The only con is the smell of it. I think its a little to perfumed for my taste.
The Ko Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water- I tried it last night and it felt really nice and my face felt fresh. I ran a cotton ball over my face with it, and loved it. At $13  for this 3.38 size, Id say its worth it. Now I don't know about you, but I think that Shampoo and conditioner are more box fillers than anything else. A deluxe sample size like these are hardly enough for you to fall in love with a product.
Nonetheless GKHair Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner smell nice. We travel alot so its good to have some travel size products on hand. I try to always bring my own toiletries just in case.
Finally, Kryolan for Glossybox Moisture Rich Lipstick in Glossy Pink. I am a total pink lipstick girl. About 90% of the lipsticks I own are some shade of Pink. So I was very pleased with it. I swatched it and think it looks pretty.  Let me know what you think of this months box. Can't wait to see what October GLOSSYBOX will have in store .

September Empties

As I was preparing to write this, I realized that I had cleaned out my guest bathroom and ended up throwing out a lot of stuff earlier this month.  But I did have these empties left and its ok because Im really anxious to repurchase some of these.
1. Aussie Aussome Volume Maximum Hold Hairspray - I love this hairspray. I like to have big curls and lots of volume. It holds my style, doesn't feel sticky and smells nice. This is a constant staple in my bathroom, and daily hair routine.
2. TRESemme Heat Tamer Spray- I style with heat DAILY! Either straightening, curling, blow drying, crimping, waving... You name it. So, its super important to have a good heat protectant handy. I have other ones in the bathroom and they either smell like burnt hair or make my hair feel oily and weighed down. (yes Im talking to you Garnier Fructis). This one is light, and smells good, after heat styling. Will definitely continue to buy this.
3. Olive Hand Cream- I got this at ROSS for like $4 one day when I forgot my hand lotion. My hands get dry because I constantly wash them and use hand sanitizer at work. I figured eh... I'll give it a try. I have to say I really like this. I wouldn't leave it at work I took it home and kept it in my nightstand and used it every night. Im in a no-buy so I haven't bought it again, but Im sure I will.
 4. Wen Hair  Sweet Almond Cleansing Conditioner- I can't say it enough. I love, love, love this! I dont use it daily but I treat my hair to it and the deep conditioning treatment. It has transformed my hair. I used to have unmanageable, dry brittle hair. Such a sad time. I dont even have to tell you, this is already on my shopping list.
5. Part of my daily skin care routine Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil Free Acne Wash- I don't have acne, so I guess it works.  It wakes my skin up in the am. Clean & Clear Morning Burst Detoxifying Facial Scrub. I bought it while on vacation, and decided to finish it off.  I actually use this at night. The C&C is nice and I may use it again sometime. I have my tried and true St Ives Apricot Scrub and will stick with that.
6. Clear Shampoo and Conditioner. Really liked them both, smells super good, and It makes my hair so easy to manage and super soft.
7. Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer- I got this free. I guess it does it thing.  I did like that my eye area wasn't so dry anymore, and my makeup went on a little more easily and smooth. I don't like to think i need an eye cream, but I guess I do.

Now For The Important Stuff:
I ran out of some of my favorites this month.

My Clinique Even Better Foundation in Sand. -  I truly like this, My skin doesn't break out, Its feel light, and has a nice sheer coverage so I dont look or feel like I have on thick makeup. Nice and natural feel.
NARS Blush in Super Orgasm.  - The shimmery peach pink compliments my skin tone, and the sparkle is too cute to not love. Luckily I always have a back up one on hand before I run out.
Gucci Parfum II - This smells so good, its a nice summer scent so this means I can shop for a new crisp fall scent . Just in time.
Tarte  Smooth OperatorAmazonian Clay Illuminating Serum- Some days this is all I use on my face. This was a deluxe size sample that came in a Tarte gift set and I think I will get a full size one. Just be careful It can make u a little oily if you use too much.
Benefit They're Real Mascara - If i ever see anyone who doesn't like this, I'll be surprised. The formula is nicely pigmented and the wand is perfect for coating every lash just right. Again i already have a back-up.

Thanks for reading. Sorry it was so long.

My Recent Swaps

Its been an exciting month for my mailbox. The anticipation of what was to come was killing us both. I did an international swap with Rachel in the UK who has one of my favorite blogs  Sweetpea London. (Click the link, check it out and follow her if you haven't already)  After emailing, and  tweeting back and forth we decided we were going to do a beauty/misc/candy swap. I know there are certain items like Bath and Body Works and Victorias Secret and certain sweets  which may be a bit more expensive or nor easily available in the UK. And I wanted to get some beauty products, not available in the USA. Plus who doesn't love all things UK/London themed, right. Of course with overseas packages coming into the US so close to 9/11 my packages took a little longer to arrive and that is understandable. I was so happy to come home to such lovely packages, filled with some really fun, yummy, and adorable items. Take a look.

I have to say i absolutely loved every single item in this swap, but i did have have some select favorites.
A flag with the royal couple. This is going right up on my wall in my makeup room. Which gives me an idea. I'd love to do more swaps and see how many different flags I can collect.  Next is this tote, this bag will be seeing plenty of shopping. I have a feeling I will fill it up soon. Its the perfect size to carry around and no one else will have one like it. This 17 Bronzer, eyeshadow, lipgloss trio I cant get enough of. I have seen so many 17 products on other blogs and have been dying to try them. The color is just beautiful. I haven't tried it yet. But I probably will this weekend.  I saw another blogger friend of mine get this 17 mascara and I texted her "I hope I get one too" I love all things animal print and I had to have this. So I am a very happy girl now.

I also loved this Umberto Gianni Hairspray and Moisture Balm.  I am a big fan of lovely smelling hair, and pride myself in having bouncy hair that I can smell when I walk. This stuff smells really GOOD.  The Telephone booth with tea bags is so darn cute, and it doubles as a coin bank, which is coming in real handy this month during my no-buy freeze. I'll be banking some money in here then treating myself to a shopping spree. These earrings are absolutely adorable. I am definitely wearing the heck outta these. How cute are they?? My new favorites. There was so much more in the box, lotions, mascaras, lip balm, nail polishes, candy, eyeshadow, keychains, postcards and chocolate. Lots of chocolate,
I had a great experience with this swap and I am looking forward to doing another swap soon as well as my next one with her. I've made a new friend in her. <3

I also did a swap with another blogger stateside Samantha who just started her blog and has Beauty is My Thing. Shes a super sweet and drop dead gorgeous girl. We have been following each other on Instagram and emailing back and forth. Her makeup and nail polish collection is TDF. We swapped beauty boxes and she sent me so many lip glosses and some bronzers, nail polishes, eyeliner, eyeshadows and these reaally cute lip and eye pallets. I, of course ripped everything out of its package like a kid at chritmas and began swatching and trying every product out.

. I really fell in love with a lipstick by Elf  in a pale pinkish nude color.  L'Oreal nail polish in Penthouse Pink is gorgeous, Essie Nail polish in Marshmallow ( which is one of my faves) and MAC eyeshadows mascara and lip glosses. Im already digging into all these goodies. Its a good thing I have all this to choose from since Im not buying anything this month.

Thicker, Fuller, Longer...Lashes that is.

Operation ThickerFullerLongerLashes:                    I love long lush lashes!! Who doesn't right?  Unfortunately unlike my sister in law (who I adore) I wasn't born with them. The only i can achieve that look is by wearing false lashes, which I am not opposed to. I decided I would try Latisse and commit to the application instructions. I figured "Hey it worked for Brooke Shields and Claire Danes, why not me"  So this is it! I have applied the first dose and will be tracking my progress and results every week for the duration of this treatment. Here is a before pic. My true lashes, make-up free. We'll see if this works.  Wish me well.

( Never mind my skin imperfections, lol)  I just wanted to be as truthful and real as I could.  Obviously, I'm wearing false lashes in the top pic.   As you can see I have very short, sparse lashes.

* I read and understood the side effects of this drug, and am under a doctors supervision. I am not endorsing this product, nor did I pay for it. It is a professional sample.

(FYI: False lashes are "Foxy" from LashBrat They have many styles. Click on the link to get yours.  Lash Brat )

Latest Haul

I recently did some shopping for a friend and I picked a few things up for my self as well. I made a few trips where I could get some good deals. I went to Beauty Brands.(Great place to get some good hair products, nail polishes, and they even have a salon, Ulta- I don't need to tell you its awesome,  Bath & Body Works, and of course I do my usual run to Walgreens.

Beauty Brands: I got an email with their current promotional sales, and went to get some goodies for my friend. They have a huge selection of nail polishes and  nail accessories. I grabbed some stuff for my friend and used a coupon they emailed me for this Redken dry shampoo/ hairspray duo. Im not much of a dry shampoo user, but Im sure the occasion will come for me to use it. Or I can give it away. I did use the Redken Quick Tease Finishing hairspray last night. The mist is very light and and it kept my hair curly and bouncy. It smells pretty good too, as most Redken products do.

Ulta: This is where I did some real damage.

Hair: If its one thing I love its beautiful, soft, shiny hair. I bought myself and my friend both a mini Macadamia Natural Oil Rejuvenating Shampoo. It Smells so good and makes my hair very soft and bouncy. I also had to get a new Fekkai Hair Glossing Cream since i inadvertently used the last one on my face (long story). But I love that stuff, when I want a polished look but dont want to use hairspray. Yes, Im that girl that still plays with her hair and likes to twirl my fingers in my curls.

Make-up: I love NYX, and its just my luck that everytime I go to buy a new Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk it always sold out. GRRR!! But it was my lucky day and there was one left, yay. This pencils are so versatile, I use it to under another color, on my waterline to make my eyes look brighter, and to highlight under my eyebrows, etc.. I recently made the horrible mistake of leaving my favorite lipstick in the pockets of my work clothes and later found it in the dryer. Luckily it didn't open up, or I would have been in serious trouble. But I made it up to myself by buying a new beautiful NYX Lipstick in Shiva. I am crazy about Sephora Love Test, but this one is just as lovely and about $10 cheaper.

Bronzer: I saw this Lorac Tantilizer Baked Bronzer in a Allure magazine, and I've been dying to try it. I love bronzer, and i love that this is so shimmery and gorgeous. I swatched it, and I used it last night. I thought it looked really cute. (Shhh I got my friend one of these too). Shes drop dead gorgeous, so Im pretty sure she'll appreciate it.

Bath & Body Works: Coconut Lime Breeze Triple Moisture Body Cream. It smells delicious!! Its thicker than the body lotion and the scent stays on longer. I started using Trader Joe's Organic Coconut Oil recently in place of body lotion. I seriously put it in my hair, on my body, even on my face after I shower.  I dont have oily skin, so it really helps lock in the moisture. (Thanks to my good friend Yessie @Cinnamonandzoeykisses), and this cream just picked up on the light natural coconut scent and is super yummy.  Also bought a new C.O. Bigelow Spearmint Supreme Gloss. Its super shiny and the spearmint not only keep your mouth feeling cool but also kinda freshens your breath. Always a plus.

Walgreens: I have a Walgreens rewards card, and they have recently been paying more attention to their beauty section, and become more attentive to customers when shopping that section. They always have some promotion with samples, and coupons. Plus, I always get those Walgreens buck to spend, So I like to stop by every now and then and grab a new nail polish, lip balm, or what ever I may need. Well I needed alot of stuff. Ive become somewhat obsessed with EOS lip balms, they're cute and keep my lips soft what else can I say, and with Maybelline's Baby Lips Lip Balms. They are so smooth, taste yummy and do a really good job hydrating. Peach Kiss was my latest acquisition. I saw this L'oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara, Its double eneded one end has a regular Black mascara and the second end has an illuminating mascara to apply on top. The tip is the round ball type brush. I used it last night along with the Mod Lash False Eyelashes #21 in Black. I bought this Maybelline BB Cream to see how it compared to L'oreal's Magic Skin Beautifier. well I gotta say I like them both. This one does provide better coverage, and it makes my skin feel hydrated without making it oily. But even better is I combine them together and my face feels great. I love the two together.

And finally Secret Clinical Strength Deoderant in Powder Protection Scent. Its summer and I live in AZ 'nuff said!

You know what time it is .....

College football season is here, and our favorite teams already scored a touchdown in the first play. Yes, I'm talking about USC Trojans. Our lives evolve around who's playing who and what time. This goes for any sport. We eat, breathe, sleep sports in this house. So to keep it interesting for me and you guys because, after all I know your not following me for my sports stats. So this week as college football kicked off I got into the spirit of things and coordinated my work ensemble to match USC's colors. I used my bhcosmetics matte pallet and chose a bright yellow shadow on the inner half of my lid, and a berry colored shadow for the outer part. I used Urban decays Midnight Cowgirl to highlight my brow bone. On lashes I used a Jordana Mascara in black and bhcosmetics felt tip liner in black as well, lips I used Tarte Lip stain Pencil in Lust. and finally for my nails I watched several Youtube vids on water marbling, and it took me a few attempts to get it right. ( my first time was an epic failure to say the least). I wore my USC scrubs, and accessorized with my custom made USC bag. If interested email me I'll give you the details on who made it.
